Welcome to The Dream Nest

Where we explore our dreams and tend the powerful messages that arise from a place deep within and beyond.

Through dream inquiry we form a bridge to waking life, integrating and expanding our lives. Join me in this empowering journey.

How do we root down into our lives? How do we bring balance to the conflicting energies we encounter inside and out? How do we access our deep wisdom and our authentic voice? When we pay attention to our dreams, we root into our bodies, ourselves, and our connection to Earth and all her creatures. We begin to notice our soul’s intentions and allow them to rise like underground springs, nourishing the fields, forests and cities of our lives.

Despite the very real pain and struggle of life, the poet Ross Gay, in his title poem, “Catalogue of Unabashed Gratitude,” describes how his dreams impacted him. A dream-robin eventually pecks him awake with a message to live into the full-on beauty-in-the-mess-embracing bard that he is. The robin’s advice was—

to bellow forth the tubas and sousaphones,

the whole rusty brass band of gratitude

not quite dormant in my belly—

it said so in a human voice,

“Bellow forth”—

and who among us could ignore such odd

and precise counsel?”

We all have “odd and precise counsel” within us. Dreams come to us to help, whether pointing out a pattern we are in, emotions we have neglected, or suggesting new possibilities and directions, even if the dream seems very odd . . . and not so obvious. We start by paying attention and diving, or wading, in.

In my work with dreams, I am mindful of the appearance of the ancient, archetypal feminine in her many forms, and sometimes this will inform our investigation. Our world requires this balance after so many eons of imbalance with Earth and with women. In a myriad of ways, our dreams bring us messages for balance, and this collective need often appears as messengers about and from the ancient Goddess and her creatures.
